The Bear's Breath

The Origin Story of Bjørnens Andas

While living in extreme conditions of the arctic region of Sweden, Joshua and Natalie needed to adapt to their environment. Thermal cycling became a habitual embodied practise to regulate themselves to the climate.

Wild cold swimming is an excellent method of adapting to an environment, as well as a strong presence practise. After one experience of ice swimming, these islanders were instantly hooked and embraced this habit consistently throughout every season. They delved deeply into the practise and studied optimal breathing methods to gain the best benefits of cold exposure.

The Bear’s Breath was created from a primal and intuitive practise to thermal regulate from the inside out. It is a combination of breathwork, physical movement and lymphatic stimulation. The intention of this method is to induce a hermetic stress response and to access to our parasympathetic nervous system and to complete unresolved cycles within ourselves. A possible result may be a shift in perspectives of mental constructs and emotional attachments, deeper insights and invoke feelings of euphoria.

This is the Bear’s Breath.
